I have fixed three bitches and one dog since 1998 because they didn’t meet my standards. The decision not to breed can be the hardest call to make. It’s not that they aren’t good dogs with nice pedigrees; just that they had traits that don’t need to be carried forward in the breed. Dove was the first dog I’ve owned that I considered breeding material.
